Pregnancy Acne? My current Routine

Week 5 Day 2

This morning I woke up as usual and I uncovered 2 acne or pimples on my face. One of the left and the other on the right.  What is happening? I have normal to dry skin.

Usually, I only get pimple on my nose or around my mouth but NOT ON MY CHEEK!  I guess it has something to do with my pregnancy again...   I knew it is not safe to use the Oxy or any treatment.  Sometimes I use the toothpaste to treat them, not sure is it safe for this time.

I am not a skincare freak but I love to use certain routine of skincare to maintain my skin condition.  Since I am pregnant, I am very careful with the product for my face/Body.  For the skincare, below are the big NO NO:
  • Vitamin A / Retinoids
  • Hydroxy Acid like BHA
  • Dihydroxyacetone ( active indredient in sunless tan product which I never use)
  • Laser treatment ( I stopped my Laser hair removal treatment)
  • Parabens and chemical sunblock
I am not a "science person" and not familiar with those terms, but in summary I think as long as you are not using anti-anging( which may contains Vit A, BHA etc) or whitening product, are using a Physical Sunscreen and stopped all the face and body treatment at Salon which involves some sort of machine or new technology, you will be fine!

The top jar contains Mandelic Acid. They are the masks that I got from Taiwan.

One of my skincare which contains Mandelic Acid aka AHA extracted from Almond which should be gentle and safe.  I read a lot of online resources and I believe this product is safe to use during my pregnancy to cure my Acne and even out my skin tone.

My Skincare Routine before Pregnancy:

Later on, I have concern on the Sk-II Facial Treatment Essence ( I asked a few stores and they all told me the whole line is perfectly OK but since some of their products contain BHA.. I wonder is it true?) and the Prodigy Eye cream which carries the Anti-aging function, so I took them off.

This BIoderma Sébium H2O is in Travel Size.  I got it from a Laser therapy appointment and this is for normal- oily skin which is not the right type for me.   I use it to take off my makeup sometimes. 3 days ago,  I found out it contains Copper Sulfate, I believe this is a no no for me right now.

This is my updated skincare routine.  I am keeping it simple.

I contacted some cosmetic companys to obtain an official responds via Facebook. Here are some....

Since La Roche Posay  provided me  a firm answer. Also, I already owned some of their products, I may switch to LRP once I finished my Helena Rubinstein.

I also picked up a few brands which are special made for Pregnant women:
  • Basq NYC
  • Bionee
  • Mama Mio
  • Belli
At the end, I purchased The Tummy Rub oil and The Tummy Rub Butter from Mama Mio online.
